We took over the lobby of the Columbus Theatre. Some of y’all came three piece suited, some of y’all came tracksuit cozy. Still mindblown at the ‘Drive Slow’ edit that Wattz played.
Since the fall of 2017, we’ve partnered with the Providence Innovation and Design District to produce free events at The Shack. In 2018 throughout the summer and fall season, we were able to have DJ sets every Friday and Saturday, Cozy Theatre - a weekly outdoor movie night, and partner with organizations in the community.
May 3rd, begins the the 2019 events season at The Shack. We will be having 22 weeks straight of free events ranging from kickbacks featuring some our favorite DJs in the region, monthly movie nights, and continuing to partner with organizations in the community.
Every month, we will release a calendar of events via The Shack’s Instagram and Facebook.
Nino didn’t in fact sing about catching these hands, he sang about vibes [sorry - inside joke]
‘Vibes’ has been in heavy rotation since last summer and it’s great to see it finally have a visual. We threw a party, that shit was fun, here you have the ‘Vibes’ video, directed by our own WHERE’S NASTY.
In April, we took over both floors of Good Life for CRIB, a party we like to call a double decker ting aka two of our parties in one building on the same night. So much love to our guest DJs, Slick Vick + Towfu for keeping the R&B energy proper in the basement.
Boston always shows out in a major way. It’s also incredible to see how much RI family pulls up too.
We’ll be back in Boston in July but sure we’ll catch y’all at the Wave or an All You Can Eat function before then.
Smiling beautiful people! One thing that brings joy to us is looking back at photos after events and appreciating y’all. For our April installment of Luv U Better, we had the Boston family, DJ Real P, come and steer the ship. Staying true to the mood he set with his selections for his updates to this month’s Luv U Better playlist, P gave us a little bit of everything.
Thank you to our team for holding things down in the super clutch. Dip was on the lollipops this month, Rae + Humberto the dynamic duo as always, Tee, Mona + Erinn on the floor <3
We love when family links up. On the anniversary of Cam’s Young King, Old Soul, he releases a visual for Other Side featuring Mass Ave’s finest, Avenue. It’s always dope to see these two connect and how far they’ve both come since being headliners of our first HOMEGROWN in 2013 at Fete. WAY BACK!
We partnered with Bryant University’s Student Programming Board + the PwC Center for Diversity and Inclusion to present the Business of Art Panel. Our goal was to show college students and our peers in the New England creative community examples of people working in the music industry who used their time and opportunities in college to transition to working full time in the music industry.
For our conversation, we had the hometown family Max October (Spotify, Senior Hip Hop Editor), Ramya Velury(Artist Manager, EQT), moderated by music journalist, Emmanuel Maduakolam. It was dope to see their willingness to share their experiences and knowledge with the next generation of creatives who aspire to work in the music and entertainment industry.
Every month on the week of Luv U Better we update our playlist to give y'all something to vibe before the party. For our April update, we let this month's guest, DJ Real P, takeover the playlist. He provided us with grooves, jams, b-sides and classics. Listen now on Apple Music + Spotify
It feels like forever since our last Bounce House. For the first one of 2019, we took the energy to the basement of 121 Washington Street in Downtown Providence. We legit haven’t been to a party down there since we linked up with the Music Please for our spread love party a few years ago.
WHERE’S NASTY and Beato played b2b while y’all resurrected one of our favorite places + parties. Above are a few beautiful faces captured by Bilindoff
Over the past few years, the sneaker community worldwide has been celebrating 3/26 as Air Max Day. After attending events to celebrate over the last few years, we wanted to bring something back home to add to the festivities. This year, on March 25th, we decided to celebrate AIR MAX EVE, with a link-up at Machines With Magnets and the release of a commemorative zine featuring some Air Max stories from some friends of ours.
Above are some the kicks people wore to the festivities, captured on film by Ally Thatcher.
If we could put all of the energy of Bounce House into one playlist, it’d be That Bounce. Some new stuff we’re listening to, some staples, and just songs you should know before the party on Saturday. Stream + follow our playlists now via Apple Music + Spotify.
Monday is here and we’re still thinking about the function on Friday. Norlan + Coro King had it feeling like a hookie (you were a bad kid if you went to one!). Shout to Jota for blessing us with the latest updates to the ¡Activo! playlist. Stream now on Apple Music + Spotify.
Not gonna lie, going into this night we were a little stressed. Jay’s (yep! WHERE’S NASTY) iTunes library erased earlier in the day. Leading up into the set up of the party he was trying to recover it so we called upon our family Beato to come set things off while we got that figured out. Like a miracle, a few minutes into the party starting Jay was able to recover his ALL of his music.
In the midst of some nervousness, we got a pop-up Beato DJ set, a reason to drink a daiquiri or two and our March dosage our R&B flavor.
Throughout the last year, we’ve been linking up with our friends from Flaneur and House Party Vibes to have a monthly function where you’re going to dance your ass off to some bachata, salsa, merengue, dembow and everything under the Latin sun.
In February, along with resident DJ, Norlan, we had our family DJ Dymand come bless a guest set. Somehow, someway the platano is always gone by end of the party.
Some punk ass snow really couldn’t scare us away from brunching. It’s still bizarre that we’re days away from Spring and mother nature is hitting us like this but champagne can cure most things. For our March installment of Eggs Over at Troop, we brought out DJ Slick Vick to play a guest set — she killed it!
Would also like to note that pictures look 100% better when you’re holding a bottle of champagne. Y’all are mad rich.
You might need this to get you thru the work day, a soundtrack for the weekend or to prepare yourself for Luv U Better later tonight. This month, Sabrina not only will be the curator of lollipops but she put together this fire playlist. Stream and subscribe now via Apple Music + Spotify
The February/March 2019 installment of our monthly-ish music newsletter, Free Base, features music from Solange, YBN Cordae, Key! and Kenny Beats (yep, “777” still slappin), Megan thee Stallion, Cam Bells and DaniLeigh.

Our brother Cam Bells is back with C.B.P.V.D, the follow-up project to 2017’s Young King, Old Soul. This album is super smooth and something you can just take a ride to. Let this be the soundtrack to get you into the spring + summer. Proud of the family.
It felt like Valentine’s Day somehow stretched a whole week this year. In the midst of expensive dates, hella Ferrero Rocher and single’s awareness, we wanted to make Luv U Better feel a little bit more special. For one night only, we brought the all R&B flavor to Downtown Providence. Thank you to the NYC family Yoo Q! for coming and blessing us with a guest DJ set. Thank you to Don Julio Tequila for coming to get us happy with some Paloma’s early.
