We come from the close cultural quarters of New England. As children of immigrants, our parents came from the Cape Verde Islands, India, and Portugal. While we are shaped by the traditions of our homes, what connected us culturally to the world outside was Hip Hop.

When we launched stay silent in December 2012, it was important for us to create spaces for young people like us to have creative exchanges and feel valued. Since then, we’ve been a defining voice of New England’s diasporic and Hip Hop communities through arts, music, fashion, and events.
